Introducing another new restaurant to Cheltenham’s burgeoning foodie scene, Korean restaurant Ginger & Garlic has opened in town, serving up traditional dishes and Asian barbecue.
Located at 334 Lower High Street in Cheltenham, the new restaurant offers an innovative and varied menu, specialising in Korean food as well as serving a plethora of other Asian dishes and barbecue favourites, with takeaway available.
Offering the authentic taste of Korea in Cheltenham, Ginger & Garlic’s menu features dishes such as Bibimbap, mixed rice with vegetables, egg, and optional meat served in a hot dish; Bulgogi, thin slices of marinated beef; and Japchae, stir-fried glass noodles served with vegetables.
Meanwhile, side dishes include the country’s staple food, Kimchi, in addition to comforting rice cakes, Tteokbokki; traditional dumplings, Mandu; and savoury pan-fried pancakes, Pajeon.
There are also a number of barbecue stations at the restaurant, where diners can choose from a selection of meats and get cooking, as is custom in Korean barbecue restaurants.
What’s more, for those who like a tipple, Ginger & Garlic is set to sell Korean liquors such as the country’s favourite spirit Soju; rice wine Makgeolli; and a host of beers, once it obtains an alcohol license. And, for even more fun, the restaurant also has karaoke booths, which add to its authentic Asian feel.
