The Hollow Bottom is a charming Cotswold country pub located in the stunning setting of Guiting Power – offering a relaxing place to drink, dine or stay the night.

The independently run pub is owned by Hugh Kelly and Charlie Pettigrew, who heads up the kitchen, and prides itself on serving a tempting menu that draws on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients.

Diners can expect a traditional yet varied menu, with dishes spanning pub classics such as homemade steak and kidney pie; sausage and mash; burgers; and ham, egg and chips; while on Sundays, roasts are served at three separate sittings – alongside its regular full menu – with entertainment from a close-hand magician.

Meanwhile the eatery’s ‘specials’ menu offers a variety of gourmet dishes, with sample entrées including pan-fried venison with roasted banana shallot, crushed new potatoes and braised red cabbage; oven-roasted, herb crusted salmon with new potatoes, asparagus and hollandaise sauce; and chicken with Dal, cucumber raita, and Bombay potatoes.

The pub also serves up a range of nibbles, perfect for accompanying a drink at the bar, with everything from tempting tapas and small plate appetisers to pizzas, flat breads and sharing boards brimming with an array of meats, cheeses and more.

The bar stocks a wide range of beers, with favourites including Greene King IPA, along with two monthly rotating ales from local craft brewers, while cider drinkers are also catered for with five choices on offer, including Harry Sparrow and Suffolk Ciders.

The Hollow Bottom also offers a free eight-seater courtesy bus to ensure you get home safely at the end of the evening, while those looking for a pub with rooms can stay in one of the four dog-friendly rooms, which make the perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds or heading to Cheltenham Races.
