Winston House School of Cookery offers a peaceful setting for brushing up on your cooking skills in the heart of the Gloucestershire countryside.

The cookery school, situated in a beautiful grade II-listed 16th century former abbots’ residence near Stroud, covers an array of culinary disciplines, whether you’re a complete novice or are looking to add to your repertoire.

The courses are run by accomplished cook, Carolyn Denny, who honed her skills at Leiths School of Food and Wine, and Raymond Blanc’s renowned Oxfordshire cookery school, Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons.

The hands-on cookery classes have a maximum of three students per session to ensure you get the maximum out of the Carolyn’s expert guidance in order to become more confident in the kitchen.

The courses vary from three to six hours, with themes spanning pudding classics, dinner party cooking, Thai, family-style suppers, and healthy eating, while there’s also a useful class aimed at giving kids and young adults leaving home an arsenal of basic culinary skills.

Fees start from £65, including all ingredients, refreshments, a certificate, and a course pack complete with recipes, while there’s the option to have one-to-one private tuition that can be completely tailored to your needs, or treat someone with a gift voucher.

Carolyn also runs private lunches that are ideal for birthday and hen parties, and gives students the opportunity to cook a meal before enjoying it in the venue’s dining room or picturesque gardens.

For more information call Winston House School of Cookery on 07968 083210, email carolyn@winstonhouseschoolofcookery.com, or visit winstonhouseschoolofcookery.com directly.
