SKIN:NY Radical Restructure Complex review

Product of the week – Anti-ageing, sun-damage-fighting, acne-scarring- and pigmentation-reducing, all while brightening and improving skin tone. Can SKIN:NY’s Radical Restructure Complex really be all it confidently claims to be?

Is SKIN:NY's Radical Restructure Complex too good to be true? Our reviewer didn't think so.
Is SKIN:NY's Radical Restructure Complex too good to be true? Our reviewer didn't think so.

Most of us would say that we would like to age gracefully, but in a world of botoxing in your lunch break, who can say that they wouldn’t be tempted to try a product that is anti-ageing and fights sun damage, acne-scarring and pigmentation whilst brightening and improving skin tone? Not me!

SKIN:NY is leading the skin revolution and contains the latest hi-tech ingredient – QAL-100 – a powerful antioxidant that claims to increase cell defences against nasty free radicals.

This cream has been clinically trialled and comes with a severe ‘warning’ to product junkies on the sleek packaging: ‘Warning: You will have beautiful skin after using this product.’ Now, forgive a girl for getting excited but it is rare to find a product so confident in its claims.

SKIN:NY’s Radical Restructure Complex is best used on freshly cleansed skin, twice a day. It has a great consistency that is ideal for use in the morning and in place of your usual thick night cream. It feels cool and a tad tingly on application but according to the comprehensive leaflet provided this is perfectly normal, and actually it made me feel something good must be happening to mon visage.

After 10 days of twice daily applications the skin cream favoured by the esteemed company of the Duchess of York, Jade Jagger, Joely Richardson and Vinnie Jones (yes, Mr Hard himself!) made a great impression on me and my hide.

The formula was easily absorbed by my skin and made a great, non-greasy base for make-up. It is free of mineral oil and smells rather more luxurious than your average moisturiser without being overpowering.

My skin feels smooth and I can see a definite improvement in a couple of stubborn acne scars. I can’t comment on its wrinkle busting power (oh the power of youth!) but it has rejuvenated my winter British skin and I am looking forward to seeing what a few more weeks use will achieve.

Beauty does, however, come at a price, and this one is not cheap. A 50ml tube retails at £55 for 50ml, but for a product that looks after the A-listers and doesn’t involve going under the knife, a splurge could most certainly be in order.

SKIN:NY Radical Restructure Complex is available from Harvey Nichols nationwide and online from skinnycosmetics.com, priced at £55 for a 50ml tube.
