Whitemead Forest Park has been given a new lease of life after the Forest of Dean resort invested £3million in transforming the family-friendly resort into an inviting place for visitors to relax and unwind.
The redevelopment covered the whole site, including accommodation, the bar and restaurant area, and communal facilities and venues, to improve the overall experience for holidaymakers staying at the park near Lydney.
The three-year project saw Whitemead’s 32 premier apartments and 12 log cabins newly decorated to include stylish design details, while the resort has also introduced new glamping pods and resurfaced its camping and caravanning pitches.
The restaurant has been reconfigured to offer an intimate dining experience, while the bar area and function venue has been updated to create an inviting and versatile space for weddings, parties and corporate events.
The site also has benefits from an indoor swimming pool, hot tubs and a sauna, along with offering a range of activities and entertainment including fencing and archery.
Carl Fillery, chief executive of Boundless which owns the park, said: ‘Whether staying as a couple, with friends or as a family, the park has been designed to provide something for everyone.
‘The reconfigured shared space gives guests the choice of either a more intimate, or a more communal experience, including a range of options for dining and entertainment.
Planning is underway for a second phase of development that will update the outdoor dining area, further adding to Whitemead’s aim of providing the ultimate holiday experience in the heart of the Forest of Dean.
