2000 Trees Festival 2008

11 to 12 July – The 2000 Trees Festival is back for a second year running, and live music fans from across Gloucestershire and beyond can expect the 2008 event to be even better.

Expect an eclectic line-up of live music acts at this year's 2000 Trees Festival.
Expect an eclectic line-up of live music acts at this year's 2000 Trees Festival.

Last year’s inaugural 2000 Trees Festival took the county by storm, with 1,500 festival-goers from across Gloucestershire and beyond flocking to Upcote Farm in Cheltenham for two jam-packed days and nights of live music in the beautiful countryside location.

So in what is a very welcome addition to Gloucestershire’s vibrant music festival calendar, the SoGlos.com team are delighted to see the 2000 Trees Festival returning for a second year running, with rumours about who’s going to make the 2008 line-up spreading like wildfire across the county.

Five acts who are already on the bill, however, are country and punk acoustic artist Jim Lockey from Cheltenham, alternative acoustic performer Chris Taylor also from Cheltenham, folk rocker Pete Taylor from the South West and London-based acts Tea with Jeanie and Dan Heaver.

For those not in the know; the 2000 Trees Festival was born out of six friends’ disillusion with paying over the odds for mainstream music festivals, launching the new event in 2007 to provide a genre-crossing, less commercial, live music experience whilst promoting green issues and awareness.

The SoGlos.com team joined the crowds last year, which saw acts including Frank Turner, Brian James, The Anomalies and Devil Sold His Soul all take to the stage, and are expecting great things for this summer’s two-day event.
