Xposed Christmas Party in Cheltenham

Experimental jazz, improvised electronic music, digital visuals and old 45s will be combined at Xposed Club in Cheltenham, for a Christmas celebration live music fans from across Gloucestershire will enjoy.

A Christmas celebration will be held at Xposed Club, the University of Gloucestershire’s monthly celebration of live music, this Friday 11 December 2009 – when jazz fans are invited to hear a host of musicians perform live.

The unique gig being held at Pittville Studios in Cheltenham features a group of performers currently on national tour as well as two top musicians from Norway, who will be combining a wealth of jazz and experimental experience together for this special festive event.

Frode Gjerstad, clarinet and alto saxophone, will be joining percussionist Paal Nilssen-Love, trumpeter and trombonist Jon Corbett, and Nick Stephens on acoustic bass for the jazz performance.

While also performing will be Mike Cooper, a folk-blues guitarist and singer songwriter who has diversified to include improvised and electronic music.

Grayson Cooke who also be performing, combining music and digital visuals, and Jim Brooks, Pittville Studios sound engineer and fine art PhD student, will be playing his collection of 45s and taking the audience on a trip down memory lane.
