Peter Hook at Gloucester Guildhall
Manchester music legend Peter Hook will be giving a Gloucester Guildhall audience an insight into his Unknown Pleasures at the latest in the eclectic Speakers line-up.
Peter Hook will be filling Gloucester Guildhall with his true tales on Wednesday 28 April 2010, at the latest in the exciting line-up of Speakers events.
Introduced by Howard Marks, and based on his best selling book The Hacienda: How Not To Run A Club, the Manchester music legend will be telling the story of the iconic nightclub, New Order, Joy Division and the Madchester scene, from the haze of 80s acid house to the 90s gangs, drugs and corporate greed.
‘A funny and engaging raconteur, Hooky’s personal account of the people – Tony Wilson, Bernard Sumner, Shaun Ryder – and the era is sadder, scarier and stranger than you could imagine,’ organisers say.
This is a rare chance to hear the stories that were not allowed in the book, featuring never seen before footage of Joy Division, New Order and The Hacienda as well as a Q&A session where fans can put their own questions to Peter Hook himself.
Speakers is sponsored by SoGlos.com.
