Hot on the heels of a sell-out UK tour and number one platinum album, pop sensation and family favourite singer songwriter Will Young will be playing the Westonbirt Arboretum outdoor stage on Friday 22 June 2012.
While the British sensation needs little introduction, in the ten years since winning Pop Idol Will Young has sold over 9 million records and ‘crafted some of the deftest British music of his era’ – accordingly to organisers.
Hits have included ‘Jealousy’, ‘Leave Right Now’, ‘Don’t Let Me Down / You and I’, ‘Light My Fire’, ‘All Time Love’, ‘Who Am I’ and ‘Changes’, across multi-platinum albums including From Now On, Friday’s Child and Keep On – ensuring a decade-long chart presence.
While this year’s release of Will Young’s fifth studio album, Echoes, has seen Young’s musical career develop further still. Produced by Richard X, the album entered the chart at number one and has already sold more than 300,000 copies in the UK.
The first single from the album, ‘Jealousy’, has been a top five chart and radio airplay smash, and Will’s most successful single in recent years.
Commenting on his forthcoming Forestry Commission gigs, Will Young said: ‘The forest gigs have a great reputation for their atmosphere so I’m really looking forward to performing my songs in such unique settings.’
In what is expected one of most popular Gloucestershire live music concerts in recent years, tickets to see Will Young will undoubtedly sell out lightning quick.
Tickets to see Will Young at Westonbirt go on sale at 9am on Friday 16 December 2011 directly from ticketmaster.co.uk.
