Funkinsteins gig at Cafe Rene

Bristol band the Funkinsteins are scheduled to perform an infectious set of live music at Gloucester venue Cafe Rene.

Described as a women-fronted ‘kick ass’ funk band from Bristol, the Funkinsteins are sure to bring down the house when they perform a free gig at Cafe Rene in Gloucester.

Returning to the city centre venue on Friday 4 May 2012, the band’s label say you won’t have seen or heard anything like this before – they are something special.

‘Amazing vocals, breathtaking guitar and phat slap bass’ are provided by the girls Sal and Al, while the drums come courtesy of the ‘mighty’ JC.

The Funkinsteins have been touring for the past two years, with a new album The Escape and a great reputation for instantly infectious and highly danceable gigs.

The band are said to blend funky dance music with sprinkles of rock, delivering tight and melodic music which will have the hairs on the back of your neck firmly standing to attention.

We can’t think of a better local venue than Cafe Rene to do the honour of showcasing this exciting band once again, which is surely worth checking out for its name alone!
