Ska-blues rockers The Harper Brothers will be stopping by Gloucester venue Café Rene on Wednesday 30 May 2012, playing their take on ‘music to drink to’ and hoping to get the crowd up dancing.
With a repertoire of over 200 songs, including 30 originals, this five-piece 80s band is known for its ruder versions and covers of songs from the likes of AC/DC to The Spice Girls, and collectively have an impressive 15 Top of the Pops performances under their belt.
Although The Harper Brothers have semi retired to the sun and snow of the French Alps, they are showing no signs of slowing down 20 years on as they continue to play gigs and weddings across Europe – with their Café Rene stop falling bang in the middle of their 2012 tour.
So if you fancy the idea of a ska-blues twist on your favourites by Elvis or The Rolling Stones, this gig could just be the ticket. As Gloucester is the homeland of the band’s multi-talented guitar, bass and drums extraordinaire Ash, it’s sure to be a particularly lively show.
