Reel Big Fish will be bringing an explosive new show to Gloucester Guildhall on Tuesday 7 August 2012.
It’s a live gig that’s sure to sell-out, popular not only with the twenty-somethings who grew up with its original sound, but also younger punk fans too.
The six-man band was one of the Southern California ska-punk bands to attain mainstream success in the early 90s, and is well-known for its hyperkinetic stage shows, juvenile humour and ironic covers of new wave pop songs including Duran Duran’s ‘Hungry Like The Wolf’ and The Cure’s ‘Boys Don’t Cry’.
Still fronted by the original singer and songwriter Aaron Barrett, the band received notable success in 1998 when it performed in the movie Baseketball with its quirky cover of a-ha’s ‘Take On Me’.
Reel Big Fish continues to tour non-stop, playing more than 250 shows a year worldwide, and having been working on a new album for 2012. Gloucester Guildhall gig-goers can expect to hear some ska-punk classics, and some brand new tracks too.
