The world-famous Glenn Miller Orchestra is promising an unforgettable evening for big band aficionados on Monday 25 June 2012, when it plans to resurrect the spirit of the 40s in Cheltenham’s very own Everyman Theatre.
Fronted by the charming Ray McVay, the one-off performance is hoping to get the toes tapping of every audience member on the night, whilst paying tribute to the great bandleaders of the era, such as Ted Heath and, of course, Glenn Miller himself.
Highlights of the evening will include fabulous harmonies from The Moonlight Serenaders, big band vocals from Jan Messeder and Colin Anthony, and all the swinging jazz you could ask for from dixie band The Uptown Hall Gang.
Ticket-holders can look forward to hearing music from star musicians who have worked with the likes of Benny Goodman, Nelson Riddle, and Frank Sinatra – including original arrangements of classic wartime chart-toppers such as ‘Moonlight Serenade’ and ‘In the Mood’, which are expected to blow the Cheltenham audience away.
The upcoming performance has been rescheduled from Sunday 5 February 2012, with organisers confirming that tickets are still available and original tickets are still valid.
