Jazz, jive and swing will be the flavour of Jumpin at the Woodside 2 festival, with live music, dance workshops and kids’ activities all lined up to keep the weekend rocking.

Fans of jazz, jive and swing music will have the chance to rock around the clock from Friday 31 August to Sunday 2 September 2012, when the Jumpin at the Woodside 2 festival takes over Dowty Sports Club near Cheltenham.

The retro dance festival returns re-amped and re-vamped, promising an even bigger and better party than last year, with a whole host of live bands, dance workshops and kids activities to keep jive-loving families of Gloucestershire entertained all weekend – with free camping available to those who book in advance.

Hailed as the UK’s top jive and swing band, and fresh off the back of its semi-final appearance on Britain’s Got Talent, The Jive Aces will be headlining the festival, guaranteed to get the crowd moving with its high energy jump jive music.

Festival-goers can also look forward to dancing the night away to live performances from the likes of 11-piece band The Regular Joes, one of the most authentic tributes to modern day King of swing Michael Bublé in Classic Bublé, ‘über cool’ swing outfit The Hep Chaps, Gloucestershire’s favourite Irish band The Roving Crows, and many more.

Plus, novices right up to the expert swingers are sure to love taking part in one of the many dance workshops and taster classes being held over the weekend, including the lindy hop, jive, balboa and Charleston.

Organisers Jazzjiveswing also confirmed there will be a beer tent serving a range of real ales, a hog roast, tea and cakes to see you through until Sunday, a vintage village, and even a kids’ zone for the little ones to enjoy.

So don’t miss your chance to join the cool cats of the county and dance your socks off, at what’s expected to be another unique Gloucestershire festival.
