Little Mix and Westlife have both cancelled their summer 2020 tours across the UK – including their July dates at Gloucester Rugby’s Kingsholm Stadium – due to the current Coronavirus pandemic.
This will come as sad, if not unexpected, news for Little Mix and Westlife fans across Gloucestershire.
Girl band Little Mix were due to be returning to Gloucester Rugby’s home ground on Thursday 9 July 2020 and Irish boy band Westlife were due to be performing on Sunday 12 July 2020.
Gloucester Rugby has issued a statement saying: ‘For those who have already purchased tickets, we will be refunding the ticket price. This will be processed automatically within the next 28 days. You do not need to contact us to arrange a refund.’
A Little Mix spokesperson told fans: ‘The band are heartbroken not to perform this summer, but the health and safety of all Little Mix fans is of course their No.1 priority. Little Mix hope everyone stays safe over the next few months and look forward to performing again when the time is right.’
While a Westlife spokesperson said: ‘Those who have been on the Westlife journey with us know how important performing is to us, but also know that safety must come first and foremost in delivering a successful tour. In the meantime, we ask everyone to stay home, stay safe, and keep playing your part in fighting the spread of this virus.’
