The Cotswolds is officially home to the most popular whisky distillery in the UK and Ireland.
New research from The Cask Connoisseur analysed the Google ratings, Tripadvisor reviews and social media metrics of 231 whisky distilleries across the UK and Ireland, with Cotswolds Distillery coming out on top.
The Cotswolds attraction saw off competition from the likes of heritage Scottish distillery Bruichladdich, which came in fourth place; picturesque Welsh distillery, Penderyn, which placed fifth; and Dublin's well-respected Teeling Distillery, which came in tenth place.
The Cask Connoisseur commended its 'highly sought-after destination in a picturesque location, immersive tours and the opportunity to witness the meticulous craft of distilling first-hand.'
Cotswolds Distillery is no stranger to awards, having won a Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Award in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Its whiskies are well-respected across the world too, with its Cotswolds Bourbon Cask whisky recently winning gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition — the only UK product to take home a gold in the whisky category.
It offers a variety of whisky experiences, from daily tours and tastings costing £20 each to whisky blending masterclasses for £100 per person.
