Gloucester Docks’ popular pub, Dr Foster’s Waterfront Bar and Restaurant, has revealed plans to reopen its doors under new management on Friday 4 March 2022.

A favourite spot for locals and daytrippers to watch the boats with a pint before closing due to the pandemic, the new team at Dr Foster’s has some unique plans too.

Ross and Hayley Nicholl, who also run events and weddings business Generation Events, plan for the building to become a licensed venue for weddings – becoming the only location at Gloucester Docks where couples can get married.

The husband-and-wife team have taken on a three-year lease and have ambitious plans for the well-loved Gloucester pub, including being a hub for live music and sport, as well as becoming one of the first city pubs to serve the new Thatcher’s Fusion infused cider.
