Sunday clubbing in Gloucestershire

Sunday is becoming the newest night out for county clubbers who want to stretch their weekend to the very limit.

Sundays are essential in the clubbing calendar.
Sundays are essential in the clubbing calendar.

Sunday, traditionally the day of hangovers, lie-ins and T4 on the telly for most nightclubbers, is quickly becoming another opportunity for fun and frivolity, thanks to the spate of forward thinking venues swinging open their doors on Sundays. Just don’t tell your boss why you’re wearing sunglasses into work Monday morning.

Stylish and laid back as always, Bohemia's Sunday Sermon pulls in a crowd every week with resident DJs Big T and Joey C playing a selection of new and classic RnB and soul to help you unwind after a hectic weekend. The doors are open from 9pm to 1am and drinks deals include £2 vodka Red Bull, £2 bottled beers and £1 sambuca shots, if you haven’t already worn out the cash machine over the weekend.

Liquid, meanwhile, promises the ‘UK’s biggest and cheesiest party night’ at Cheese every Sunday, with club classics from the in house DJ hoping to inspire more than a few moves on the dancefloor. There are also drinks from £1.50, fancy dress, whacky games and free giveaways – as if you need any more encouragement to get your glad rags on. Entry cost £3 with the energetic entertainment carrying on from 10pm until 2am.

If you’re strapped for cash, entry into Blush is just £1 all night, with drinks promotions on vodka, draught beer and bottles of VK. Their superb Simply Sundays line-up includes weekly live performances by blinding local band DUKE in the club, while DJ El Postino is on the decks in the lounge. The doors open at 10pm until 1.30am, so being broke is no longer an excuse to not enjoy yourself.

If you’ve been pulling pints or waiting tables all weekend watching with envy while everyone partied around you, get your nightclub fix from 4.30pm to 2am at EXS' S.I.N.F.U.L Sundays. Everyone from the hospitality industry (flashing a recent wage slip) gets free entry into the gay club or you will pay £3 for the privilege. Cheese, RnB and dance music are pumped out from the sound system on Sundays, offering you the last chance to dance before you’re back to work again and wondering where your weekend went.
