The two-day Highnam Court Spring Fair 2008 attracted visitors from across Gloucestershire, with SoGlos.com’s snapper in attendance to capture the family day out - and even the sunshine made an appearance.
As the largest of only a handful of annual events during which members of the public are able to visit the magnificent Highnam Court, the 2008 Spring Fair attracted visitors from far and wide over the sunny April weekend.
Raising funds for both The Pied Piper Appeal and Gloucester Cathedral, the weather thankfully held up for most of the time while visitors were treated to a seemingly non-stop calendar of events, from clay pot throwing and demonstrations by Gloucester Cathedral Stonemasons to performances by Cheltenham Silver Band and wood sculpture carvings.
The Fair also boasted an impressive show of classic cars, a huge array of stalls tempting passers-by with plants, organic produce, crafts and ice cream, not to mention plenty of activities for children to enjoy.
But the star of the show was inevitably the gardens, lovingly restored over the last 15 years by owner Roger Head – and today being a sight Monty Don himself would be proud of.
And don’t miss SoGlos.com’s preview of the Highnam Court Spring Fair 2009.
