Gloucestershire Christmas lights 2008 photo gallery

The annual switching-on of the Christmas lights is a firm family favourite with thousands of people turning up to events across Gloucestershire. SoGlos.com reader Andy Sallis joined the crowds at the Cheltenham, Gloucester and Tewkesbury 2008 events to capture the action.

Cities, towns and villages across Gloucestershire have all welcomed the Christmas season with open arms this November, in the annual switching-on of the lights ceremonies which have become a firm favourite on the annual events calendar.

While rumours of celebrity appearances and dazzling displays have been spreading across the county like wildfire in recent months, it was on Saturday 22, Sunday 23 and Sunday 30 November 2008 that three of the county’s most anticipated ceremonies took place – with the Cheltenham, Gloucester and Tewkesbury events respectively.

The jury is still out on which event was best, with Cheltenham playing host to girl band The Honeyz, Gloucester to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Christopher Biggins and Tewkesbury to none other than Father Christmas.
