Christmas at Hotel du Vin Cheltenham
Until 24 December – Offering a stylish venue for a Christmas celebration, Hotel du Vin Cheltenham will be serving very special treats for families, friends and work colleagues over the festive season.
For an elegant venue to celebrate a Christmas to remember in Montpellier, look no further than the stylish Bistro at Hotel du Vin Cheltenham – which will be hosting festive celebrations until Christmas Eve in 2008, as well as a traditional Christmas lunch with a modern twist on the big day itself.
For festive celebrations throughout December 2008, until Christmas Eve, the Bistro at Hotel du Vin Cheltenham will be serving a sumptuously modern menu of three-courses for £38.50 per person. Pre-dinner cocktails and after dinner tipples can be both taken in Hotel du Vin’s relaxing lounge to complete the evening, and for group sizes between 10 and 20, there are also a number of private dining rooms available.
Starters include choices such as red wine poached pears with walnuts and chestnut honey; game terrine with fig chutney and toasted brioche; and twice baked Simon Weaver blue cheese soufflé with celery veloute. For mains, diners could be tucking into tournedos of turkey with fondant potato, roast carrots and sprouts; roast duck with duck leg ballotine, red cabbage and boulangere potatoes; or vanilla poached sea bass with leeks and scallop veloute.
And if there’s still enough room for dessert, the celebrations will be rounded off with Christmas pudding with rum custard; warm dark chocolate tart with spiced pineapple; or vanilla panna cotta with red wine poached figs – not forgetting the coffee, mince pies and crackers, all included in the price, too.
On Christmas Day itself, Hotel du Vin Cheltenham’s Bistro will be serving a fine festive menu for £75 per person, with menu highlights including lobster bisque with chive cream, and organic salmon ballotine with herb fromage blanc to start; roast free range turkey with traditional garnish, and steamed fillet of sea bass, scallop mousse, salsify, and buttered spinach for the main course; while decadent desserts include Grand Marnier parfait with Seville orange marmalade, and Christmas pudding with Pedro Ximenez. Not forgetting the sherry trifle and mince pies, either.
