While the credit crunch may still be dominating the newspaper headlines, it’s refreshing to see a new independent delicatessen and bistro launching in the Cotswolds this spring – and aiming to offer customers the finest of local produce to boot.

Roger and Fiona Guy, born and bred in Bourton-on-the-Water and nearby Nether Westcote respectively, found the Moore Street property in February and have been working towards the opening of the aptly titled Moore to Eat Ever Since.

‘It is our intention to bring all the very best of our local suppliers together under one roof for the local community. Bourton-on-the-Water currently does not have a delicatessen so we are looking forward to building a local customer base, giving everyone a relaxed and informal place to eat and meet’, said Roger.

Moore to Eat’s enthusiastic owners have been scouring the local area for the best local suppliers of everything from meats and cheeses to fruit and ice cream, with their final hit list including the likes of Martin’s Meats, Kitchen Garden and The Cotswold Ice Cream Company.

As well as being able to take a wide range of produce away from the deli – including filling up their olive oil bottles at the refill station – visitors will also be able to sample the homemade delights at one of Moore to Eat’s few tables too.

For more information see Moore to Eat or call (01451) 810830.
