Jamie's Italian opening in Cheltenham

News - As Jamie’s Italian restaurant opens in Cheltenham, the celebrity chef speaks out about the latest addition to his growing restaurant empire.

Jamie’s Italian Cheltenham, the newest addition to celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s high street restaurant chain, officially opened on Wednesday 27 July 2011 on the site of the town’s former county courthouse.

Described as offering high quality, authentic Italian food at a good price, Cheltenham will be the latest restaurant to join the 18 UK branches of Jamie’s Italian, with restaurants also in Sydney and Dubai, and more in the pipeline.

‘I wanted to create a local restaurant that is classy, reliable and inspired by what people want – good tasty food. That’s how Jamie’s Italian came about and the great British public have been voting with their feet and making all our restaurants very successful,’ Jamie Oliver said.

‘I’m so excited to be bringing Jamie’s Italian to Cheltenham. I just know the people of Gloucestershire will take Jamie’s Italian to their hearts because it really is delicious food at a price that will please everyone – business-people, students, mums and dads, everyone,’ he added.

The Cheltenham restaurant will be one of the most historic in the Jamie’s Italian collection and the restaurant’s designers have been careful to maintain some of the Grade II-listed building’s original features while adding some new additions including a Hollywood-style spiral staircase.

‘We’ve got a beautiful building in a great town in a gorgeous county and I know the team at Jamie’s Italian will quickly make it a favourite amongst local people,’ Jamie continued.

Cheltenham foodies visiting the newly-opened restaurant can look forward to fresh pasta made daily on the premises and a menu that changes seasonally. With signature dishes including wild truffle risotto; prosciutto, pear and pecorino salad; Tuscan wild boar sausages and Amalfi lemon curd, this summer.
