Mercure Gloucester Bowden Hall will be the setting of choice for romantic couples this Valentine’s Day.

The newly-named Mercure Gloucester Bowden Hall in Upton St Leonards will be giving romantic couples the chance to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a special evening out this Tuesday 14 February 2012.

The venue is offering a three-course meal for couples, accompanied by gentle music, sparkling wine, a rose on arrival and the promise to keep you smiling through the night.

Surrounded by countryside views and period features inside and out, organisers say Bowden Hall’s Dearmans Restaurant will be the perfect surprise for a loved one and is sure to impress.

Highlights from the three-course menu, complete with creatively-named titles throughout, include ‘skinny dip’ – asparagus with soft poached egg and toasted muffin glazed with mornay sauce; or ‘brave heart’ – smoked and poached salmon terrine with lime, caper and dill dressing.

The standout main courses include ‘the French maid’ – roast rump of lamb, sun-blushed ratatouille, fine beans and dauphinoise potatoes; and ‘the Italian stallion’ – buffalo mozzarella, red onion marmalade and roasted butternut squash tart with rocket salad and herb dressing.

For dessert ‘you sexy thing’ is perfect for Valentine’s – a smooth dark chocolate tart, raspberry sorbet and raspberry salsa; while ‘French kiss’ sounds great too – a heart shaped strawberry shortbread with fresh strawberry compote. There’s also a romantic sharing choice on the starter, main and dessert menu too.
