Valentine's at The Wharf House
Celebrate a romantic Valentine’s in Gloucester with The Wharf House’s special six-course menu, available for four days in February.
With Valentine’s Day falling unfashionably on a Tuesday this year, many romantic couples will be enjoying the special occasion the weekend before or after – and The Wharf House in Gloucester is expected to be a particularly popular choice, thanks to its Valentine’s offering available from Saturday 11 to Tuesday 14 February 2012, as well as Saturday 18 February 2012 added by popular demand.
In fact the Gloucester venue’s Valentine’s menu is available for lunch and dinner each day, and takes in no less than six courses of fine, modern British and seasonal cuisine.
Kick off the romantic occasion with a glass of prosecco or Kir Royal, accompanied by The Wharf House canapés. While the selection of four starters include scallops with coconut, lemongrass and a hint of chilli; as well as a fan of pink duck with orange segments, walnuts and a rocket salad.
Cleanse your palate with a delicious champagne and redcurrant sorbet, before plumping for one of four main courses – with SoGlos.com’s highlights being the loin of venison rolled in walnut with redcurrant sauce and a hint of dark chocolate; not to mention the duo of red pepper shortcrust tarts with celeriac and wild mushroom, accompanied by ratatouille.
Onto dessert and our favourites include rocket and raspberry jelly, or the meringue filled with vanilla cream, laced with fresh and caramelised fruits – all finished off with coffee or tea and petit fours.
