Valentine's at The Montpellier Chapter
Popular Cheltenham haunt The Montpellier Chapter will be playing host to a carefully crafted five-course menu this Valentine’s, which is great value to boot.
It’s become one of SoGlos.com’s favourite Cheltenham haunts since opening just over a year ago, and this Valentine’s The Montpellier Chapter Restaurant will be tempting couples with its delectable five-course menu – devised by head chef Tom Rains – available from Saturday 11 to Tuesday 14 February 2012.
Romantic diners will be able to choose from aphrodisiac-style appetisers of marinated salmon with fried oyster and horseradish cream; duck liver mousse with apple chutney and toasted brioche; or Roquefort and pear salad with honey and walnut vinaigrette – before enjoying a mid-course passion fruit sorbet.
The choice of mains, meanwhile, are fillet of sea bass with buttered spinach and crab-stuffed tomato; chive crusted best end of lamb, roast pepper and rosemary roasting juices; and wild mushroom and artichoke risotto with rocket and parmesan salad.
If you want to go all out and impress your Valentine in true style, for a £15 supplement you can also choose from a chateaubriand of beef with grilled tomato, onion rings and béarnaise sauce; or the more unusual lobster thermidor with watercress and radish salad and basmati rice.
The Montpellier Chapter Restaurant is giving diners the chance to enjoy a variety of desserts for two to share, including a chocolate fondant, meringue, glazed lemon tart, fruit basket and berry sorbet – just don’t get into an argument over that last mouthful!
Finished off with coffee and chocolates, and at £35 per person, The Montpellier Chapter’s Valentine’s menu sounds like pretty darn good value too.
