Valentine's at Café Rene

Celebrate Valentine’s at Cafe Rene in Gloucester, where three courses and more are just £22.95, and you’ll also be able to enjoy live music on two nights to boot.

There’s only one place to be in Gloucester city centre this Valentine’s, and that’s independent restaurant, pub and live music venue all rolled into one, Café Rene.

What’s more you can forget one paltry night to celebrate the day of love, as Café Rene is running its Valentine’s menu from Monday 13 right through to Saturday 18 February 2012 – while the normal menu will also be available, for anyone who wants to plump for a Rene favourite of their own.

Café Rene’s three-course Valentine’s menu is priced at a very reasonable £22.50 per head, including a glass of cava on arrival, coffee and petit fours – so as you can imagine, pre-booking is advisable.

Choice starters include the giant prawn and crab ravioli with tomato concasse, or the warming roasted butternut squash soup. Main course favourites are the parcel of salmon, plaice, scallops and prawns with white wine and coriander, of the fillet steak stuffed with blue cheese wrapped in parma ham – all served with a choice of accompaniments.

While the trio of Valentine’s desserts on offer are the black forest gateaux, selection of cheese and biscuits or Eton mess.

Plus, book a table on Wednesday 15 February 2012 and you’ll also be able to enjoy live music from experimental folk rock band Ash Mandrake from 9pm, while on Friday 17 February 2012 The Antidote will be entertaining Rene audiences with their blues country roots, from 11pm.
