My partner and I had a takeaway from Golden Mountain tonight, which was probably our tenth (only about one a month, honest!) - but sadly our last.

In despite of the card reader machine not working, the waitress serving gave no apology and was somewhat rude to my partner - which isn't a particularly good way to treat paying customers I'm sure you will agree.

Then, on returning home, our chili beef and Szechuan chicken didn't live up to much, was a bit greasy and left us both feeling a little rough afterwards. It's a real shame as we've had some great takeaways from Golden Mountain, but I'm afraid the hunt will start again for a good, reliable Chinese takeaway in Cheltenham.

I suggest you keep on looking too... 4 August 2008

It's often busy on the weekend and their 'all you can eat' deal sounds like good value - although I can't remember how much it is! Still not dined inside though, but must have had about five or six takeaways and it's always pretty good. Okay, not amazing perhaps, but consistently good and enough for me to recommend trying. 3 July 2008

This is the best in town you have to try it! 2 June 2008

Malaysian, Singaporean then Chinese & Thai - excellent and the best of this kind of cuisine I've had outside Malaysia. It's also friendly, the service excellent and it is good value. 4 November 2007
