9 places to hit the January sales in and around Gloucestershire

From Boxing Day into January, SoGlos rounds up 9 places in and around Gloucestershire to hit the sales and snap up some post-Christmas treats.

From Cheltenham’s Regent Arcade, to the ever-popular King’s Walk in Gloucester, and some havens just beyond the border, county shoppers will be hitting the shops from Boxing Day to hunt for bargains galore.

Whether it’s fashion, homeware or even some post-Christmas presents you’re after, SoGlos has handpicked 9 places to bag a bargain this festive season, in and around Gloucestershire.

1. King's Walk Shopping Centre

A prime retail destination in the centre of Gloucester, King’s Walk will be drawing in crowds of shoppers when its shops, including River Island, Primark, HMV and The Entertainer are bursting with bargains after Christmas.

Open from 9am on Boxing Day, the centre offers fashion brands for those hoping to revamp their wardrobe for the new year, gadgets and games to keep boredom at bay, and plenty of eateries for a pit stop during the shopping spree.

2. Regent Arcade

Cheltenham’s shopping arcade will be the destination of choice for many savvy shoppers getting their dose of retail therapy, with its doors opening bright and early at 9am on Boxing Day.

With retailers including T. K. Maxx, H&M, Schuh, Ernest Jones, and The Body Shop, Regent Arcade offers a one-stop shopping destination for bagging some bargains, while its popular eateries, including Soho Coffee and Carluccio’s, are the perfect places to refuel.

3. Eastgate Shopping Centre

Open from 10.30am on Boxing Day, Eastgate Shopping Centre will be providing another shopping experience in the heart of Gloucester, with stores galore including M&S, Game, JD Sports, and Accessorize bursting with sales shopping post-Christmas.

From fashion retailers and sparkling jewellery stores, to gadgets and games, Eastgate’s selection offers something for everyone, including plenty of tempting eateries such as Auntie Anne’s pretzels.

4. Merrywalks Centre

Shoppers can head to Stroud bright and early on Boxing Day to snap up some purchases at Merrywalks Centre, with the majority of its shops set to open their doors at 10am.

Home to high street giants such as Argos, New Look, Savers, and Wilko, there’s plenty of chance to bag a bargain, while Curio Lounge provides the perfect place to grab a coffee or lunch.

5. Gloucester Quays Designer Outlet

Offering up to 70 per cent off prices throughout the year, Gloucester Quays remains a favourite destination for local discount hunters, and is open for shoppers from 10am on Boxing Day.

With names like Jack Wills, Ted Baker, All Saints, L. K. Bennett, and Next, and spanning womenswear, menswear, accessories and homewares, the designer outlet will see the whole family bagging some deals, while its impressive choice of restaurants is sure to go down a treat.

6. Burford Garden Company

For those not ready to hit the high street on Boxing Day, the family-run Burford Garden Company will be open on Wednesday 27 December 2017, promising an enjoyable shopping experience in the Cotswolds.

Home to a cornucopia of products spanning homeware, children’s toys, and beautiful gifts, as well as plants and garden accessories, the stylish 15-acre store will be enticing visitors through its door for a post-Christmas spree.

7. Cribbs Causeway

With more than 150 stores just beyond the Gloucestershire border, Cribbs Causeway is home to huge John Lewis and M&S department stores, in addition to high street names such as H&M, Oasis, Next, Warehouse and HMV to name just a few.

Open from 10am on Boxing Day, the Bristol mall is the ideal destination to shop until you drop, whether you’re searching for a new wardrobe, jewellery, electronics, homeware, or just want to enjoy a bit of retail therapy.

8. Westgate Oxford

A new shopping destination in the Cotswolds, Westgate Oxford will be open from 9am on Boxing Day to welcome shoppers, offering a plethora of stores spanning British high street names and prestigious global brands.

From Blackwell’s bookshop and MAC makeup, to Oliver Bonas and Boux Avenue, there’s plenty to explore, while the centre is also home to more than 20 innovative eateries, a rooftop bar, and a boutique cinema.

9. Bullring

Just a 45-minute train journey from Cheltenham, Birmingham’s Bullring is a haven for shoppers and foodies alike, boasting more than 200 shops and a brilliant selection of eateries including Five Guys, Cereal Killer Café, Handmade Burger Company, and Mission Burrito.

The Bullring opens from 8am on Boxing Day, offering the perfect excuse for shopping addicts to rise, shine, and hit the stores nice and early, finding some great bargains along the way.
