Present dilemmas will be a thing of the past thanks to the introduction of the new Cheltenham Gift Card, with more than 60 local businesses already signed up to accept the card.
The initiative, which was unveiled on Saturday 19 August 2017, has been introduced by Cheltenham Business Improvement District (BID) and can be spent on almost anything, anytime, anywhere in the town centre.
Kevan Blackadder, director of Cheltenham BID, said: ‘The card is available at whatever sum you want to spend from £10 up to £500. It can be used in one go or in several visits to different businesses over a number of months.
‘We’re expecting the cards to become a popular birthday present or a simple way to say thank you for a good turn. And just think how helpful they will be when it’s Christmas time and you run out of ideas. With the Cheltenham Gift Card, you can be sure the recipient will get the presents they really want.’
Stickers will be displayed in the windows of the businesses which accept the card, with House of Fraser, The Union Project, and No. 131 The Prom just a few of the shops, bars, restaurants and cafés that have already signed up to be part of the Cheltenham Gift Card.
The card can be purchased online from Cheltenhamgiftcard.co.uk, at The Ultimate Party Shop on Regent Street, or at Wild Beer in Cambray Place.
Sue Clingan, owner of the Ultimate Party Shop, said: ‘We are thrilled to have been asked to play such a crucial part in this scheme. Being great believers in promoting the ‘Shop Local’ ideology and encouraging independent businesses and the town centre to thrive, we think this initiative will really succeed at doing both.’
