The dinosaurs exhibitions is great. My youngest and I are big fans of the series so it was nice to see the models up close...

Cheltenham Cricket Festival 2010 promises to provide a fortnight of first class cricket once again this summer, with Cheltenham College inundated with fans from across Gloucestershire and beyond when the gates are open for the first festival match.

Gloucestershire County Cricket Club has been playing in Cheltenham for over 135 years, although the annual games were not officially called a festival until 1906.

Over the last 100 years the festival has gone from strength-to-strength, and is now one of the most successful cricket festivals in the world, attracting thousands of spectators.

The anticipated 2010 fixtures are as follows:

On Thursday 29 July 2010 fans can see Gloucestershire Gladiators v Yorkshire Carnegie from 1.45pm.

Friday 30 July to Monday 2 August 2010 will feature Gloucestershire v Glamorgan from 11am.

Wednesday 4 to Saturday 7 August 2010 sees Gloucestershire v Worcestershire from 11am.

Culminating on Sunday 8 August 2010 with the Gloucestershire Gladiators v Middlesex Panthers from 1.45pm.

As well as watching the world class cricket on the pitch, younger generations of cricketers can also try their skill in the C&G Game Zone – an area set aside for youngsters to play cricket, get coaching, as well as take part in competitions.

Whether you are an avid fan or a first timer, the Cheltenham Cricket Festival 2010 is a magnificent opportunity to see some spectacular cricket – and hopefully catch a bit of sunshine – in Gloucestershire.
