Go Ape Tree Top Challenge

Event ended

8 August – Go Ape in the Forest of Dean and raise money for a good cause at the same time, during this summer’s Stroke Association charity event.

If you’ve yet to take to the trees with high wire forest adventure Go Ape in the Forest of Dean now’s your chance, as The Stroke Association is holding a charity fundraiser at the Mallards Pike Lake course on Saturday 8 August 2009.

The Tree Top Challenge will give participants the chance to make like Tarzan and climb through the trees, slide across high wires, crawl through tunnels, cross rope bridges, walk the plank and zip down to the ground – all while generating funds for The Stroke Association through raising a minimum of £85 in sponsorship.

To give you a bit more of an insight as to what’s in store at the Forest of Dean attraction; the highest point is the top of Parrots Ladder at 15m; the longest zip wire is 180m; the longest crossing is 18m; and the total length of all crossings is 806m.

The Stroke Association is the only UK charity solely concerned with combating stroke in people of all ages. The charity funds research into prevention, treatment, better methods of rehabilitation and helps stroke patients and their families.

Fingers crossed for a spot of sunshine and what better way to spend a summer’s Saturday afternoon?
