Cancer Research UK’s Run 10k in Gloucester
Energetic men and women of all ages across Gloucestershire will be digging out their trainers, limbering up and getting running for Cancer Research UK’s Run 10k, in Gloucester this October 2010.
Up to 1,000 people from across Gloucestershire will be under starters orders in Gloucester this October for Cancer Research UK’s Run 10k.
Starting at Gloucester Park on Sunday 3 October 2010, the 10k course will see runners of all abilities aged 16 and over sweep through the city centre past Gloucester Cathedral, Hempsted and Gloucester Docks.
Organisers say that many of the runners taking part in the run will also be coping with cancer treatment or coming to terms with the loss of a loved one – with everyone who crosses the finish line after 6.2 miles feeling a huge sense of achievement.
Registration for the run is now open, with less active members of the public also able to join in by cheering on the runners on the Sunday or sponsoring friends or family members taking part.
Run 10k in Gloucester is one of 41 Cancer Research UK fundraising events taking place across the country this autumn, which the charity is hoping will raise over £6 million to help fund its life saving work.
Visit cancerresearchuk.org/10k for more information and to register.
