Race for Life in Cheltenham
Cheltenham ladies will be embarking on a 10- or 5-kilometre race at Cheltenham Racecourse this July, helping Cancer Research UK raise an amazing £80 million for its lifesaving work.
Ladies from across Cheltenham and further afield will be descending on Cheltenham Racecourse this Sunday 1 July 2012, taking part in the annual Race for Life event to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Whether walking, jogging or running, Cheltenham participants can choose from a 10k race or a 5k race, raising awareness and funds for Cancer Research UK, as part of the largest women-only fundraising event in the UK. There are also also Race For Life races in Gloucester and Cirencester this summer.
Organisers say some Race for Life participants take part as a celebration of surviving a cancer experience, others take part in memory of a loved one or to give hope to a cancer-free future, ‘but all of them share a common goal: to raise money for Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work to beat cancer.’
Entrance costs £14.99 to register, with every pound raised in sponsorship going towards funding the work of researchers, doctors and nurses dedicated to helping more people beat cancer.
