Race for Life in Gloucestershire
Cancer Research UK’s annual Race for Life will see women across Gloucestershire take up the challenge to walk, run or jog 5k or 10k for charity, in Gloucester and Cheltenham.
There are three Race for Life events taking place in Gloucester and Cheltenham this summer – giving women across Gloucestershire a trio of chances to tie-up their trainers and get walking, jogging or running for a very worthwhile charity.
Organised to raise awareness and funds for Cancer Research UK, more than 230 races will be held across the country this summer – including two races in Cheltenham and one in Gloucester – as part of the largest women-only fundraising event in the UK.
Race for Life in Gloucester is a 5k race taking place on Sunday 27 June 2010 at Hartpury College.
While Race for Life in Cheltenham sees a 10k race take place on Saturday 3 July 2010 and a 5k race take place on Sunday 4 July 2010 at Cheltenham Racecourse.
Organisers say some Race for Life participants take part as a celebration of surviving a cancer experience, others take part in memory of a loved one or to give hope to a cancer-free future, ‘but all of them share a common goal: to raise money for Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work to beat cancer.’
Taking part costs £12.99 to register, with every pound raised in sponsorship going towards funding the work of researchers, doctors and nurses dedicated to helping more people beat cancer.
