Cyclists will have the opportunity to saddle up and pedal through the scenic Cotswold countryside to fundraise for Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, the only in-patient palliative care unit in Gloucestershire, this July 2022.
Returning for its 34th year on Sunday 10 July 2022, the Ride for Ryder event will see participants take on a charity challenge of their choice, cycling 40, 60, 90 or 130 kilometres through the Cotswolds.
The event is sponsored by Allstone Speedy Skips, meaning all the money raised will go towards funding Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, which provides compassionate palliative care and bereavement support that local families rely on.
Suitable for seasoned cyclists and beginner riders alike, people of all abilities can pledge to Ride for Ryder this summer – with the brand-new 60-kilometre route giving enthusiastic novices the chance to crank up the gears; and the whopping 130-kilometre course keeping experienced riders on their toes with some steep inclines.
All routes start and finish at Dean Close School in Cheltenham, taking in pretty Cotswold villages like Broadway and Guiting Power, with refreshment stops, water stations and picture-perfect views along the way.
Entrants will receive a finisher’s medal, plus those who raise over £145 in sponsorship will get a special Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice cycling jersey to wear on the day.
Participants can register via sueryder.org/rideforryder. Entries close on Sunday 3 July 2022.
