As part of the celebrations to launch the London 2012 Olympic Games, the official Olympic Torch Relay will be passing through cities, towns and villages throughout Gloucestershire – not once, but twice, this summer.
Gloucestershire residents and visitors will be able to see the Olympic Torch being carried by official Torchbearers through the streets on Wednesday 23 May 2012 and Thursday 24 May 2012, as well as on Sunday 1 July 2012.
The Olympic Torch will first be arriving in Cirencester, before making its way to Cheltenham for the official evening celebrations, travelling on to Gloucester and beyond the next day.
It will then return to the county more than a month later to call at Chipping Campden, the site of the first Cotswold Olympik Games which will be celebrating its 400-year anniversary in 2012.
Members of the public can see the Olympic Torch when it arrives at the following locations in Gloucestershire:
Cirencester starting from London Road at 3.42pm and travelling along Market Place, Castle Street and Sheep Street
Stroud starting from London Road at 4.19pm and travelling along Merrywalks and Beeches Green
Painswick starting from Stroud Road at 5.03pm and travelling along New Street and Cheltenham Road
Brockworth starting from Painswick Road at 5.21pm and travelling along Shurdington Road
Shurdington starting from Shurdington Road at 5.35pm
Cheltenham starting from Shurdington Road at 5.48pm and travelling along Bath Road, Montpellier Terrace, Promenade, Evesham Road to Cheltenham Racecourse for the evening celebrations

Gloucester starting from Gloucester Docks at 8.15am and travelling along Commercial Road, Southgate Street, Westgate Street, Northgate Street, London Road, Cheltenham Road, Estcourt Road, Kingsholm Road and St Oswald’s Road
Maisemore starting from the A417 by The Rudge at 9.15am
Hartpury starting from the A417 by Danford Lane at 9.25am
Corse and Staunton starting from Gloucester Road at 9.37am
Chipping Campden starting from the B4081 by Blind Lane at 12.41pm and travelling along Sheep Street, High Street, Cidermill Lane and Station Road
Lit in Greece, the Olympic Flame will be arriving in Land’s End on Friday 18 May 2012, before travelling by foot to Gloucestershire as part of the 8,000-mile cross-country race.
The 70-day journey will culminate at the Olympic Stadium on 27 July 2012 for the lighting of the cauldron at the opening ceremony, signifying the official start of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
