Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling 2011 video
The unofficial Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling 2011 event attracted hundreds of spectators to Cooper’s Hill. SoGlos.com joined the crowds to capture the amazing action.
Although the event was officially cancelled again this year, due to health and safety concerns, around 500 loyal fans from Gloucestershire and as far away as New Zealand turned up to watch the Cheese Rolling 2011 action on Monday 30 May 2011.
Local lad Chris Anderson was the clear champion for another year running, and the atmosphere on the hill was fantastic despite the dreadful British weather.
While there was some police presence on the day, SoGlos.com can report the authorities were nothing more than friendly to members of the public who had feared they wouldn’t even be allowed access to the world-famous Cooper’s Hill slope.
Hopes remain high for an official version of the event to return in 2012. Register for SoGlos.com’s free email newsletter for the very latest.
