Editor's ChoiceAfter last year’s rambling success, it’s no surprise that this year’s Winchcombe Cotswolds Walking Festival is expected to be bigger, better and brisker than ever before.
Taking place from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 May 2013, the annual Walking Festival will feature 19 guided evening-, half- and full-day walks ranging from one-and-a-half to 14 miles, and a number of historic tours, all led by knowledgeable walk leaders.
Each walk has a theme, so whether you fancy visiting a water mill, brewhouse or cold war bunker, hearing about Sudeley Castle’s role in the civil war or simply spending a couple of hours identifying the birds and wildflowers that inhabit the Cotswolds, organisers promise there to be something for everyone during the course of the weekend.
What’s more, many of the walks are accompanied by historical talks, with the chance to try Nordic walking – complete with specially designed poles – also on offer.
