The early risers of Cheltenham will once again be making a splash at Sandford Parks Lido on Friday 21 June 2013, when the popular pool opens to the public for its third annual Sunrise Swim.
The heated outdoor swimming resort, well-known locally for its slightly crazy Christmas Swim tradition, will be opening its doors at the eye-watering time of 4.42am, when the sun is set to rise on the longest day of the year.
But those who can’t bear to think about leaving their beds before the cockerel’s crow will still have the chance to take the plunge, with the early morning session running until 9am.
Plus, the Lido café will also be open from 4.45am, offering a range of well-priced food and drink to plucky participants after the swim, while partner charity Winston’s Wish is hoping to see some familiar faces as it aims to raise funds to continue to bring smiles to the faces of bereaved children across the country.
