Set to quite literally go down a treat, Gloucester has been announced as the next city to have its very own giant zip wire.

Flying high across the city centre, thrill seekers can whizz over Gloucester on the giant zip wire which will be 1,100 feet long and will run from TK Maxx on Northgate street, along Southgate street and will finish outside Topoly’s restaurant, reaching speeds of up to 40 miles per hour.

Expected to open on Friday 29 June until Sunday 1 July 2018, the exciting new attraction is part of the impressive plans from Gloucester BID, which aims to improve the city centre by hosting the zip wire, for what promises to be a hugely popular summer attraction.

Speaking about the giant zip wire, CEO of Marketing Gloucester said: ‘Gloucester is being looked at nationally and regionally as a beacon of good practice in this regard and this giant zip wire is definitely showing that our small city can lead the way in generating an exciting city centre experience and give a boost to our local daytime and evening economy.’
