The sardonic Sean Hughes will be bringing his unique brand of scorn, mixed with heavy sprinklings of sarcasm and self-deprecating wit, to the Roses Theatre’s stage with his What I Meant To Say Was tour this March.

Perhaps best known for his long-running stint on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, and drama The Last Detective, organisers say 'his equally wide-ranging film and theatre career includes starring roles in the film adaptation of Spike Milligan’s Puckoon, and with Sienna Miller on the West End stage in As You Like It.’

At the age of 24, Hughes was the youngest comedian ever to win the prestigious Perrier Comedy Award. Almost two decades later the Irishman was also voted at number 40 in Channel 4’s World’s 100 Greatest Comedians poll.

Tewkesbury audiences should be prepared for literally anything, as the comedian has promised that he tries something different every night and reacts to the audience – rather than churning out a rehearsed script. So you’ve been warned…
