Cat Among the Pigeons in Gloucester
17 May – The Kings Theatre will be playing host to a Cat Among the Pigeons this May, when the local performers takes to the stage in Gloucester.
On Tuesday 13 to Saturday 17 May 2008, prolific local theatre company The Phoenix Players will be taking to The Kings Theatre stage in Gloucester for five nights of Cat Among the Pigeons – a play written and directed by Jean Homer.
Audiences will see and hear the story of Ben, a middle-aged gynaecologist, and Billy, his photographer partner, who live in one of four flats in a large Victorian house in central London.
Billy’s parents are due to be visiting from the United States – with his father being a bigoted and homophobic man who has no idea his son is gay. To avoid a difficult situation, other residents in the house are coerced into an elaborate plan to keep Billy’s father in ignorance. Like all the best laid plans, however, this one goes awry.
Don’t miss this amateur production while it’s showing at the historic Gloucester theatre, and all will be revealed.
