12 July – Fans of the hit film starring Adam Sandler will be flocking to Cheltenham’s Everyman Theatre this July, when The Wedding Singer Musical hits the stage.

Find out if Robbie will win Julia's heart in this acclaimed musical.

The 1998 film The Wedding Singer starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore not only picked up a host of movie awards, but today still takes pride of place in many a DVD collection around the world – thanks in part to its acclaimed soundtrack.

Forming part of a busy national tour, The Wedding Singer Musical will be arriving at The Everyman in Cheltenham on Monday 7 July 2008, for six-days of performances which promise to recreate all the action of the original blockbuster – with an acclaimed cast starring none other than Jonathan Wilkes, whose theatre credits include lead roles in The Rocky Horror Show, Tommy and Grease, as well as Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps star Natalie Casey.

If previous reviews are anything to go by, Cheltenham audiences can expect a hilarious 80s musical based on the hit movie which will have them dancing in the aisles – as wannabe rock star, and everyone’s favourite wedding singer, Robbie Hart (Jonathan Wilkes) spirals into depression after being jilted at the altar, before meeting the sweet waitress called Julia (Natalie Casey).

The only trouble is, Julia already has a ring on her finger and is about to tie the knot, so Robbie will have to pull off the performance of the decade if he’s in for a chance of winning the girl of his dreams.
