Following on from a successful pilot show last year, The Offstage Theatre Group will once again be bringing their own interpretation of the favourite improvisation show Whose Line Is It Anyway? to The Wheatsheaf in Cheltenham, on the first Friday of every month through 2008.

As part of the regular night, Offstage’s homage to the popular show – entitled Off The Cuff – will see the cast working off their wits in a bid to entertain county comedy fans with plenty of silly games, a bunch of made-up songs, lots of rude jokes and a bucket load of audience suggestions.

For those not familiar with the original, Whose Line Is It Anyway? began life as a radio programme in the late 1980s, later moving to television as a hit series on Channel 4 before also being produced in the US. While cast members on both sides of the pond have changed on a regular basis, greats including Paul Merton, Tony Slattery, Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie have all become synonymous with the show – bringing genius quick thinking and laugh-out-loud humour to our television screens.

Improvisers on the Off The Cuff nights will include Kate Davies, Barnaby Eaton-Jones, John Lomas, Gaz Ricketts, Joy-Amy Wigman and Iain Barton – all hoping to recreate the magic in their own style, while maestros Tom Wakefield, Nick Stylianides and Martin Vogwell will be giving the music rounds an authentic twist.

Offering the chance to support a local theatre group, enjoy a beer or two and get involved with the action, don’t miss what is sure to be a series of fun nights out in Cheltenham.
