After last year's sell-out show, Disney's High School Musical 2 returns to Gloucestershire.

Disney’s High School Musical 2 will be hitting the stage this summer, with families from across Gloucestershire expected to flock to Cheltenham to catch one of the 17 sizzling performances.

Following a sensational sell-out production of the original show in Cirencester last year, Gloucestershire-based Tigz Productions will be staging the lavish follow-up at The Bacon Theatre from Wednesday 26 August to Saturday 5 September 2009.

Organisers say: ‘Join Troy, Gabriella, and the rest of the Wildcats as they take summer vacation jobs at an upmarket country club, where more twists and turns can be expected as Sharpay continues to cause havoc.’

The large-scale amateur production featuring a cast of more than 20 local performers aged 15 to 27 is set to include 17-year-old Michael Naylor from Gloucester as heartthrob Troy for the second year running, while 17-year-old George Montague from Stonehouse will play Chad.

The High School Musical 2 audience in Cheltenham can expect an all-singing, all-dancing family show packed with energetic choreography, cutting-edge lighting, and all the numbers they have loved and sang-along to from the second instalment of the smash-hit trilogy, in this ambitious and predictably highly-entertaining summer production.
