The Gloucester Theatre Company will be inviting audiences to take a journey of adventure and discovery when The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is staged at The Picturedrome Theatre in Gloucester in the festive season.

Based on the original C.S Lewis novel in The Chronicles of Narnia series, the classic tale will be performed using masks and puppets to create the book’s enchanted creatures, with four talented local school children taking the leading roles as Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy.

The opening night of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe on Friday 4 December 2009 will also mark the official re-opening of The Picturedrome Theatre – the 375-seat theatre in the heart of Gloucester which used to be named The New Olympus.

The Mayor of Gloucester will be amongst the first night audience, with rumours that the young British actor William Moseley, who played Peter in the recent film-version of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, might also be in attendance.

Gloucester’s newest theatre company will be performing the family-friendly play until Sunday 3 January 2010, with a breathtaking, magical and memorable outing to the theatre promised for all ages.
