Ardal O’Hanlon comedy night in Stroud
Father Ted star Ardal O’Hanlon will be gracing Stroud Subscription Rooms’ stage this month, launching a new comedy night at the vibrant town centre venue.
Stroud is hoping to make its mark on the national comedy circuit, when the Subscription Room’s new monthly club launches on Wednesday 16 December 2009, with none other than Ardal O’Hanlon at the helm.
Best known for his role as the loveable, dimwitted Dougal in Channel 4 show Father Ted, Ardal O’Hanlon started out as one of the founders of Dublin’s Comedy Cellar in 1987 – and today enjoys a reputation as one of the best stand-ups on the circuit. In fact, organisers promise that with his offbeat stories, unexpected twists and sheer originality there is no other performer like him.
Also taking to the stage on the inaugural comedy night in Stroud will be the award-winning freewheeling Scotsman Phil Kay – dubbed one of the greatest comedic odysseys ever witnessed; Paul Tonkinson – star of BB1’s Michael McIntyre Comedy Road Show; and Craig Campbell – a Canadian host who’s unique ability to find humour in even the most mundane has made him one of the most in-demand acts on the circuit.
With the chance to see a household name and three reputed comics all in one evening, find out for yourself whether the new Stroud comedy night is worth 15 of your finest pounds by booking tickets now. Go on, go on, go on, go on.
