Oscar Wilde’s celebrated comedy of upper-class morality, Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime, will be taking The Everyman Theatre’s stage in Cheltenham, with Any Dream Will Do winner Lee Mead taking the lead role.

Making his comedy debut, Mead stars as Lord Arthur – a deliriously happy, a pillar of society on the verge of marriage to the lovely Sybil Merton, when a brief departure from Victorian convention leads him to meet the chilling clairvoyant Podgers – played by West End veteran Gary Wilmot.

Podgers reveals that at some point in Arthur’s life, he will commit a murder. To protect his future wife, Arthur decides he must commit this bloody deed before he gets married, and as he searches for the most convenient person to sacrifice, chaos ensues in what organisers describe as a ‘highly entertaining and murderously funny comedy’.

Joining Mead and Wilmot on stage will be the glamorous Kate O’Mara, star of Dynasty and more recently Bad Girls, as well as TV regulars David Ross and Derren Nesbitt.
