Brand new show The Firework-Maker’s Daughter will be beginning its tour of the UK with an exciting premiere in Cheltenham, at the town’s popular Everyman Theatre.

The story has been adapted for theatre by Stephen Russell, and will be performed by The Birmingham Stage Company at the end of October 2010.

Philip Pullman’s story tells the tale of a little girl called Lila, whose firework-making father dashes her dreams of following in the family trade when he tells her that firework-making is not a suitable job for a young lady.

In a tale of fantasy and magic, Lila embarks on a journey to find a special kind of sulphur that will make for the best fireworks her father has ever seen.

Pirates, elephants and a world of wonder help make this children’s adventure story one not to miss, so make sure you nab a couple of tickets sooner rather than later.
